What begins as a standard murder investigation for the LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division takes a turn when Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson arrives on the scene. Fresh from Atlanta and in her first week on the job, Brenda quickly encounters opposition from veteran officers who are set in their ways. The only person who appears to support her is her assistant, Sgt. Gabriel, who seems open to collaborating with the new leader of the LAPD’s Priority Murder Squad.
