Episode Overview

In Los Angeles, 1938, LAPD detective Tiago Vega and his partner, Lewis Michener, are on the case of a murder. At City Hall, Tiago’s brother, Raul, an activist, clashes with the passionate Councilman Charlton Townsend over plans for California’s first freeway. Simultaneously, Peter Craft, leader of the German-American Bund, encounters Elsa, the enigmatic mother of one of his patients. Feeling the weight of impending danger, Tiago’s mother, Maria, turns to Santa Muerte for protection, as the escalating tensions in the city loom ominously.
