Episode Overview

After being promoted from the assembly line to plant manager at a Los Angeles airplane parts factory, the well-liked George finds his life taking a complicated turn. His friend Ernie and former colleagues on the factory floor poke fun at him for moving up to management. George’s first challenge in his new role is to let one employee go, having to choose between his sharp-tongued mother, Benny, who’s a line inspector, or Ernie. Meanwhile, his devoted wife, Angie, juggles Benny’s endless quips while managing their two children: the clever 9-year-old Max and 13-year-old Carmen, who is navigating the ups and downs of adolescence.
