Combat! (1962)

Episode Overview

Hanley instructs Saunders and his team to capture a bridge that is protected by a heavily armed house. Nick Adams makes a guest appearance as a self-absorbed private who constantly jokes and is primarily focused on his own survival. Throughout the episode, he shares that he’s a jazz drummer set to leave the battlefield for an army band that entertains the troops, and he’s determined to avoid getting hurt. Ultimately, he makes the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the mission's success, despite having initially mocked it.
