Helen spots an opportunity to impress Charlie when he becomes fond of one of the animals at her pet adoption event. However, the pet in question is an unpleasant creature with an unclear background named Gutterball, who is forced to stay with the Goodes since Charlie's residence has a no-pets policy. As Helen navigates life with Gutterball, Che helps Gerald tackle the college’s ongoing issue with squirrels.
