Plot
After returning to Texas post-Civil War, Chad Morgan (Alan Ladd), a former Confederate officer, spearheads a cattle drive to Missouri, promising local ranchers a lucrative auction price of $10 per head. However, they face a grim reality when the merciless cattle baron Brog (Anthony Caruso) has intimidated rivals, leading to a significantly lower offer. As Chad navigates this treacherous landscape, he must rally his fellow ranchers against Brog’s oppressive tactics while fighting to secure a fair deal for their hard-earned cattle.
