Heaven and Hell (1969)
Plot
Sixteen-year-old Eva and seventeen-year-old Arne, both raised in comfortable, stable households, sit in a classroom where their professor casually claims cannabis is less harmful than alcohol. Intrigued by this startling assertion, they and a circle of friends decide to test the theory for themselves. That single experiment spirals into a devastating descent into addiction and chaos for everyone involved. Though dismissed by critics upon release, this cautionary Norwegian drama nonetheless became one of the country's most successful theatrical films of 1969.
