Plot
Michael, a veteran open-pit miner, clings fiercely to the life he knows, refusing to accept that coal is on its way out. For him, the mine isn’t just a paycheck—it’s his identity, his whole world. He rallies his coworkers to fight the inevitable transition, but his stubborn grip on the past only isolates him. As time goes on, even his family distances themselves, leaving him standing alone against a tide he can’t stop.
