A documentary tracing the rise, fall, and revival of hand-painted movie posters. Featuring interviews with iconic artists from the 1970s and 80s, alongside today’s independent creators, it investigates why Hollywood traded illustration for Photoshop, and where that artistry vanished to. Then, in the mid-2000s, a grassroots movement of screenprinted, limited-edition posters emerged from indie galleries—selling out within seconds online. This underground resurgence caught the studios’ attention, sparking a renewed appreciation for illustrated movie art and breathing new life into a once-forgotten craft.
