The Boxer (1977)
Plot
Midway through a bout, Hayato, a celebrated boxer, abruptly decides he’s done. He takes a dive, walks away from the ring, abandons his wife, and settles into a solitary life with his scruffy dog. Then one day, a knock at the door brings a young, unremarkable fighter who pleads with Hayato to take him on as his student.
