Plot

Mrs. Foster, a retired woman who sees the glass as half empty, is facing chemotherapy with understandable dread. The last thing she wants is to share her treatment space with a precocious kid who insists she's going to grow up to be a lesbian. But in Maisy Jones, Mrs. Foster finds an unlikely companion—one who hands her far more than a flicker of optimism, turning her bleak world into something unexpectedly brighter.
