Plot

In *Between the Rains*, Kolei—a shepherd boy whose name means “living among the goats”—grapples with a crisis of identity as a relentless drought wears on. The warrior path chosen for him once defined masculinity and community life, a sacred pillar of his culture. Now, he questions not only that role but the fading traditions that shaped his world, torn between duty and the slow erosion of everything he knows.
