Plot
In 1978, three French journalists are granted rare access to interview Pol Pot, leader of Democratic Kampuchea. At first, Cambodia appears to be a utopia under Khmer Rouge rule. But beneath the carefully staged facade, the regime is crumbling, plagued by war with Vietnam and internal paranoia. As they search for scapegoats, a secret genocide unfolds. Little by little, the journalists witness the beautiful illusion shatter, exposing unspeakable horrors—and their assignment spirals into a waking nightmare.
