Plot
Tosya Kislitsyna, a whimsical and trusting graduate of a culinary school, arrives in a remote northern village, eager to involve herself in everyone’s business and lend a hand wherever she can. On her very first day, she collides with Ilya, the village’s most admired bachelor, who scolds her sharply. Hoping to smooth things over, she invites him to a dance that evening—only to be turned down flat. Stung by her rejection, Ilya boasts to his friend Filya that he’ll make Tosya fall for him within a week.
